Reference Management

While there are many options for reference management, the primary tool that we use is Zotero. It’s free, open source (FOSS), runs on every platform, isn’t owned or run by any publication house, and has all the features and extensibility you might want.

Overleaf (the group’s LATEX editor of choice) also supports syncing from Zotero when linked with an online account.

For best usability, once an online account is created, use their servers for reference storage, but you can use the mccg backup server for data storage (details available on Slack).

You can also join the MCCG Zotero group for access to shared papers if working on collaborations, or access to papers that are up for review in group meetings.
